What is Power BI?
Power BI is a suite of analytical tools designed to give you a detailed picture of your organization. Power BI enables you to connect hundreds of data sources, to simplify the preparation of data and generate ad-hoc analyze. Your reports and dashboards prepared by you can be published by the organization and viewed by all users, both via the web interface and on the mobile devices.
With Power BI you can analyze everything that matters to you. Connects to on premise or cloud databases, Excel, Text or CSV files, Web sites, Data streaming, SaaS applications (Dynamics CRM, MS Project, Salesforce, MailChimp, etc.). New types of data sources that can be connected to Power BI are added monthly.
With Power BI, you can identify the ideal way to present the information so it can be understood at a glance. There will be a whole community of programmers that create a wide variety of personalized views that can extend the basic functionality you receive in Power BI.
Put the advanced research algorithms developed by Microsoft Research to work out new correlations between your data, displayed in the most intuitive way. In fact, Microsoft's research will show you the interesting things in your data, the correlations found between the different data and columns, so you have all the real content of them.
Last but not least, the simplest way to find out information is to ask in natural language, such as "what was the total turnover last year." With Power BI you can explore your intuitive data, ask questions in natural language and get the answer in the form of reports and graphics. The functionality developed by Microsoft behind the field in which you ask questions recognizes the words you use and realizes what data structure in your information to use to find the answer.
Power BI helps you create dashboards that summarize multiple views to give you a complete picture of the organization. The views you use in the dashboard are promoted from the reports you use, so accessing them directly brings the information deferred from the report.
