Teraplast is the largest PVC processor in Romania. The company has 4 subsidiary, 5 warehouses, and tens of distributors, 600 employees and thousands of customer throughout the world.
In 2015, Teraplast Group faced the limitation of existing IT infrastructure and wishing to equip its employees with modern tools of cooperation and coordination of activities, Teraplast decided to fundamentally change their working process.
Together, alongside Teraplast, we evaluated the internal situation, employees necessities and searched for the most suitable solution based on Microsoft technology.
BRINEL has developed a pilot project for 20 users, to evaluate Microsoft Office 365 services. The pilot project held from January to February 2015 proved that Office 365 increases efficiency and reduces management effort of IT team. Moreover, being a cloud service does not involve investment in hardware and licensing, no additional supply cost and maintenance of such equipment. Thus, after two months of Microsoft services evaluation, over 300 users migrated to Office 365, such as e-mail as a personal productivity and collaboration solutions. Migration process was made by BRINEL and went without incidents, there were not correspondence losses or business interruption.
For Teraplast the main change was at the e-mail level with a major impact on the entire team starting with the Management, Acquisitions, HR and IT departments.
Being a cloud service it does not imply hardware and license investments, and no additional costs with equipment maintenance and alimentation as well.
Office 365 has removed any interruption in correspondence and provided for all users a generous storage space (1TB) and high limits for attachments. The E-mail can be accessed from any device and from anywhere.
Employees saves documents in OneDrive, where these can be easily shared, having access based on individual rights and receive automatic notifications when changes occur to the documents they constantly use.
The HR department uses Skype for Business to conduct the job interviews. The recruitment process is shorter and cheaper, and recruiters do less business trips. Transport costs, accommodation and meals are cheaper. Moreover, interviews are recorded and can be reviewed any time, which increases the quality of the recruitment process.
The initial investment was zero because Office 365 is available on an annual subscription and does not involve the purchase of hardware equipment. Only the change of email server would have required a minimum investment of 5,000 euros, and whom will add an additional cost of Office licenses update.
The greatest benefit is that Office 365 allows Teraplast's employees to collaborate effectively and provide long-term support for company development, in that case being able to deal with the continuing evolution of business requirements.
