Structured cabling within a Data Center is based on the TIA/EIA 942 industry standard and also defines its redundancy degrees, which also influence the design of structured cabling. 

Topology design should take into account the dynamics of new technologies that lead to the transition to 10, 40 and 100 Gbps.  

Modularity and flexibility are extremely important points in the design of a current Data Center from the perspective of new business applications to be implemented and virtualization that adds to each level - from servers and storage to communications.  

Whether you use topologies WOR (End of the Row) or TOR (top of the rack) types, you must take into considerations of separating data paths from those of power supply.
